Earlier in the year this had been the local choice over a long trip down the motorway to Edition 38, and it had proven a much more enjoyable than anticipated day. Autumn is obviously a much quieter time of year for increasingly rust-prone cars such as these so obviously the turnout was much reduced, but there was still enough to go around. Significantly more of the cars were modern, largely uninteresting, very lightly modified stuff, or supercars with no modifications and very little to note on. These are whatever doesn't fit into those categories!
If Honda made a ute it would probably look like this. Almost similar to a DC2 but with the hatch scooped out.
What a shame these are FF instead of FR. Watching an old video of a trackday at Knockhill had made the impression on me of how popular Escorts and Capris were, even if it's more difficult to get the back end out properly on this generation.
Largest collection of Japanese stickers of the day, perhaps of any show this year. I'm sure they're all related to conformity to some sort of test or standard applicable over there. This car sounded NA so maybe the owner is just a really big Greddy fan?
The holographic sticker on the wing reminds me of Pokemon cards.
"Fuji Heavy Industries Aerospace Division" is such a cool sticker - not sure what it has to do with this though? Maybe they make these braces from bits of plane?
Another entry in the cool sticker club with the Department of Defense Porsche.
The critics (anyone within 100 yards of the car) seemed split as to whether this was a good colour or not. I like it but it sort of reminds me of Werther's Originals which have a tendancy to make me feel sick.
What would a car be without the correct Motorsport steering wheel boss.
I guess these have a D14 engine? Seems like a fantastic base for a track car anyway.
Big fan of these with the hard top and all the racing bits - like a mini Le Mans car!
The only supercar that I had really paid attention to simply because all the others were a bit too modern and not very interesting.
And done! Fewer cars like I say but still worth the trip out, even if it was just for the drive on the roads on the way back it would have been worth it. I'm 2 for 2 on buying a late show car ticket and parking in the wrong place! This year I ended up in the French section somehow! Oh well, still cheaper than a public entry ticket.
