Navigate to My Photos from Here

I'll slowly start filling these pages up with photos, for now they're just shots of a couple of car shows I've been to. I'm working on a project at the moment which I'll add a page for to keep record of my progress.

Elsecar at the races on 10/04/2022

~THIS LINK DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE: The scans were too slow to load!~
First show of the year for me and some great cars attending. The racecourse has a massive space and it was filled with interesting cars. Although there weren't a massive number of Rallyes featured, it was a very well presented group from all over the country and a treat to see both modern and period interpretations. The Driver's Collection lot was really something; a few nice BMWs, an exceptionally clean Aventime, and a host of other 80's/90's treats mixed in.

Shots from a car show at Ripley Castle, North Yorkshire on 02/05/2022.

Most of the cars attending were 60's/70's British Classics and others from the era which I don't find as interesting, but a strong attendance of more interesting Euro and JDM cars made it worth going to. The red E36 M3 is a personal favourite.

A few from Edition 38 Early Edition on 08/05/2022.

Obviously loads of VAG cars including a host of very well built MK2s and a couple of more unique Polos and Porsches. It's all stuff that's been covered to death and I'm more interested in the parts that make up the cars so it's just detail shots in here. Possibly the largest collection of Heko wind deflectors and Stant radiator caps in the country.

Only Charged Dubs 10th Anniversary Meet on 21/08/2022.

Fun small meet for the OCD 10th anniversary at their unit. We didn't stay for long but there was a great amount of variety and I got to chat to some brilliant people. Not pictured is the big blue For Galaxie I had a sit in, it was a gorgeous car but I'm not experienced enough to photograph it properly yet.

Harewood Hill Climb Summer Champs on 28/08/2022.

We hadn't planned on coming up to the hillclimb but it's been a while since I first found it and there happened to be an event on so we checked it out. Great views from the top of the hill and open paddock to explore all the cars. Some really interesting road legals and the usual lot of single seaters which are much bigger in person. Definitely make another trip out for more road car events!

Edition 38 20th '22 on 04/09/2022.

The one we'd been waiting for since May and what felt like my life slipping away on the motorway. Following the hill climb I was looking for something to match the excitement so it took a minute to get into the mindset for this. Definitely interesting to see how the photos have progressed (if only slightly) but still a long way to go before I'm happy with them.

The Drivers Collection on 11/09/2022.

Flyers for this have been haunting me all year. I first heard of of it when at Elsecar when they invited a varied selection to a mini show in a separate yard. Safe to say this wasn't a disappointment, it was almost too much to take in and I didn't get as many great photos as I had hoped.

The Drivers Collection on 30/04/2023.

Started with the same show I ended last year with. Super excited for this setting because of how imposing the exterior of the building is. No disappointments here again, another extremely high quality selection of cars. Went around a few times to get all the shots I could and definitely more pleased with these than the ones I got last year.

Ripon Sports Cars in the Park on 07/05/2023 .

A very last minute choice to visit this but with the price of a ticket to Early Edition climbing to £25 combined with it being a 300 mile round trip, this little 25 mile blast up the A1 and less than half the price for entry was much more enticing. This marks the first time my car has been in a show, although it is definitely not a show car whatsoever - public tickets were £20 and show tickets were £10 so it made sense just to enter it. On arrival someone from the BMW Car Club very kindly told me to park with them although it felt a bit disrespectful to park my unprepared, lacquer peeling, dirty car next to some of the best examples of clean BMWs in the country. Selection was leagues better than expected and turned out to be a great day out and arguably more fun than Edition might have been because a lot of the cars we hadn't seen before.

Only Charged Dubs Again on 30/07/2023 .

Last year was great fun so I've been down again to check out what selection is there this time. Not just bagged VWs, there's a load of high quality stuff from across the globe.

Classic Touring Car Racing at Croft 13/08/2023 .

Something I've remarkably never been to before is any sort of on track car racing (apart from Harewood which I don't think counts) so getting the chance to see some track action and be it Supertouring cars as well was too good an opportunity to miss up. There's a load of great racing over the day and a good chance to get up close with the cars in the pits too.

The Drivers Collection 2023 Show at Sheffield Aero Club on 03/09/2023 .

My legs still hurt from all the walking and my head still aches from all the squinting but only because there were so so many cars to see in such a short space of time and the weather was so wonderfully bright. This was the biggest, best show of the year by far with the absolute best cars I've seen. Porches, Super Touring replicas, time attack cars, modern stuff, hot rods, trucks, motorbikes; just everything you'd ever want to look at in one field.

Sports Cars in the Park at Newby Hall on 24/09/2023 .

A brilliant drive to a somewhat quieter show than earlier in the year, but still with enough to go at albeit with a definite touch less organisation. I'll have to get an LSD for the E36 soon because losing the back end with an open diff is not condfidence inspiring, but it's good to know I can catch them when they happen....for now.....

North Wales Rally on 16/03/2024 .

First rally I've been to - tried to get as close to the action as possible. Rain meant pretty limited on the photos but still a fantastic experience in a beautiful place.

Auto Culture Show on 14/04/2024 .

Back to Doncaster for another year of Elsecar at the Races Auto Culture. Two years in a row this has been the first show of the year and has held up well this year too. More variety of cars this year and, as always, a strong showing..
