The Drivers Collection '23 - Sheffield Aero Club

There's a lot to cover in this show and there's no amount of time that could possibly do justice to the vast quantities of high quality cars all in one place, under a sky roaring with aircraft and a blazing sun. Tall corn field certainly comes close to the top of the list for backgrounds to photograph cars against.

I seem to have trouble editing photos properly when they've been taken in such harsh sunlight - I just find that getting the colours I want when everyting is so washed out is pretty difficult - but I'm not unhappy with these; that being said I might come back and redo them when I'm better at it.

September is really making itself known and we're only a couple of days in. It's already fogged windscreens weather!

I don't think it would be possible to have a Mk1 cleaner than this.

My favourite Polo again. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this car.

The wall of crops making one of many appearances as a suitably coloured backdrop to this Mk5.

In the afternoon the clouds were more frequent and the punishing sun even went in long enough to get some more appeasing light for this shot of a super clean Mk3.

High angle with the wide lens makes this look like a pancake but it's more to illustrate the proximity of the runway.

Back again and it's really grown on me. There are a lot of interesting and well-made looking points to this car which is somewhat surprising for a Rover, but it's just got a wonderful shape and size to it.

Perennial favourite the Panda with the cage and the most appropriate wheels I've seen. Couldn't think of a more suitable wheel for not just this car, but this car as it's presented.

This really caught my eye. It had some crazy lacquer peel on the bonnet but it still looked incredible and like a perfect, usable, fun street car.

I was meandering around on my bike the other day when, not 30 seconds from my front door, I saw this on a driveway. I thought it was odd that I'd never seen it before when it's so close to home, and it was even odder when it appeared here too!

I'm not a mega Rotiform fan - there's just something about them that rubs me up the wrong way - but these have a nice simplicity to them; they aren't trying too hard.

Adore an FB. I didn't know this had been wrapped since last I saw it at the last Drivers Collection show at Magna but it's still looking good!

One of the other FBs at the show was this work of art with a K20 in it and some of the most extreme aero I've seen on something street legal. It would be cool to see it on track one day, only wish it had a rotary for my own sake.

I had forgotten that I'd looked forward to seeing this at the show and was blown away when I spotted it. Such an incredible level of detail and it looked so good. This was definitely my favourite of the show, and I was so taken with it that I didn't even notice the Ferrari parked next to it until I walked away and came back.

BONUS AND ALTERNATE ANGLES

Done! What a show; I still don't know if I really understand what I saw because there just wasn't nearly enough brainpower in my head to comprehend it all. I love to see the same cars evolve but there's still so much I haven't seen which is exciting! I'd love if there was a show at a less sunny time of year but I guess nobody would want to bring their cars...
